I find this applies deeply to youth sports. We have a hesitancy to celebrate our teammates when they succeed, make a select team or are given recognition. Itβs important to celebrate each others success and understand the more we give to the team, the more we will grow as individuals. Everyoneβs time will come.
The statement βWhen the world rises, so do youβ is a lie. In the current continuum, the world rises, but there are living beings being killed for no reason, so they don't rise at all.
I actually love rooting for others, maybe because I know what it feels like not to have anyone rooting for you. I donβt see people as competition β Iβm my own competition. Seeing others rise inspires me, reminds me that thereβs room for all of us to grow and shine in our own ways.
A rising tide raises all ships.
What a powerful piece! It invites us to pause and see ourselves more clearly. I cherish honesty with vulnerability.
The world needs this message!

We think cheering for others takes something from us.
The truth is the opposite - refusing to cheer drains you more than giving ever will.

Thanks for the good reminder! Here's a haiku using a few of your words, rearranged:
celebrate others
be generous with kindness
all rise together
