This: " it’s what being human is all about — helping others and building goodwill for you never know what demons someone is fighting." You don't know unless they tell you or show you by their behaviors. The destructive behavior, or desire to destroy, often come from a place of fear and unresolved anger. It is possible to quell those with kindness and compassion which they have not received anywhere else because they have been neglected and rejected. It's the stuff you find spilling out on the analyst's couch.
I like the way you’ve put it Gary :). But it doesn’t have to be only from an analyst’s coach, unless your statement was metaphorical. One can learn to observe the cues and act accordingly.
Yeah, that smells like a way to polish the mental illness turd and you give a free pass to the crazies.
If someone attacks me outta nowhere, I’m gonna pop them right back with an incapacitating throat punch. I don’t care what their malfunction is. Go see a shrink on your own time and take your meds, cletus.
Ever wonder why 22.8% of U.S. adults experience mental illness (57.8 million people)? Maybe not. This represents 1 in 5 adults. And it largely goes untreated. No polishing, and no free pass to anyone. Self-defense is a legitimate response if someone attacks you “outta nowhere.”

Yes, "analyst's couch" was meant as symbolic, not limited to the couch, or the analyst. Thanks!
