Love doesn’t make you weak. It just makes you visible, and visibility terrifies cowards.

Stoics call it virtue. Mystics call it surrender. I just call it having the guts to stay human when cynicism is the cheaper costume.

Yeah, people will waste your kindness. Some will treat it like currency and never pay you back. But every time you love anyway, the soul gets its reps in. That’s how it stays strong.

Like this. Still not ready for another rep lol but it gives me a sense of "control" to have my guard up. Totally agree with your reply and the main substack though - the reps analogy is a good way to view it. My soul is very strong :)

This is true. I have given love to someone I loved deeply and probably still do. But, the love wasn't returned it was only one sided and with fake words never coming true. Taking all he could get at my expense. It took me a long time to wake up. I continue to be kind even when people are not. Thank you for this..🙂
