On time. I’m a slow reader and I’m going to need to read this several more times before I can harvest the seeds of possibilities.

My mind is spinning in inspiration, reflection and contemplation all at the same time. I’ve paused, and allowed myself to focus on what resonates with the greatest intensity. I’m in a crisis and I need me to show up for me! I’m grateful for the first read, and the you the author for sharing it with us.

Note: Depression is not a thing that has a quick fix. It is not something a person is at fault for. No one can tell you how to cure your depression. We're all built differently and need an individualized approach to healing. And it can't always be overcome by a change in thinking.

It's simple as a Soldier you are Taught, the sooner you realize you are already Dead the sooner you can function as a Soldier can.

I went to see a band I’ve seen on and off over the last 40 years Hawkwind. They have a philosophical leaning as well as sci-fi/dystopian, the lyric “when the time is flowing through me” left me mindful of having seen this same singer a number of times over the years, nicknamed the Captain, by himself and by fans. Another lyric came to mind “This is your Captain speaking … your Captain is dead” as the opening to another song launch to the spaceship Hawkwind. Their counter cultural ideas with anti-heroic message of self responsibility, if my actual Captain is me … then indeed “your Captain is dead”. Plus another favourite band with their dedicated anarchist communal lifestyle and message Crass have a song called “You’re already dead”. Both bands counter cultural in nature of their creative output.

Im so grateful for these reading. It is to read, again and again with full understanding of all. To appreciate the support and learn. There are many distractions present, so I should give all this much thought. Thank you, for the much required support. 🌟

This was an amazing post. I love the connection of Thomas Shelby to Marcus Aurelius. Variations in lifetimes, personalities and societies and a person can benefit in the same line of thinking.

A fascinating concept. I am a new student to stoicism though the more I read, the more I wish I’d stumbled on this subject 30 years ago when I was making some rather impulsive decisions that I’ve come to regret. Clearly no time machine, but I do feel I am getting better at reframing my own history. Context, it seems, grants me a second chance.

Thank you
