To have Gratitude for the words of support and encouragement.

We move through life, not always understanding the Pull on our hearts. Yet each path has meaning for growth and strength, to move forward and not stand still.

Peace is within us, in who we are and our purpose.

Trust that we all have worth, protect this in the Spiritual World of lifeπŸ•ŠοΈβ€οΈπŸ•ŠοΈ

As someone who has

overcome anxiety these words ring true. ❀️ But it is work everyday to keep these messages in the forefront.

Thank you. I've struggled with anxiety since pretty much forever... The Stoic teaching are hugely helpful. Thanks, also, for the always dependable, insightful posts.

Thank you especially for the Tolstoy quote. Your piece also reminded me of Frankl’s book, which I’ve just been reading and written about - he suggested that sometimes we need to almost act as if we want the thing we don’t want - paradoxical intention - to get what we do. Curious to hear your thoughts

😊Your writing was very helpful to me today. Sometimes Stoicism can be such a great splash of cold water to my face. Thank you for helping to restore my clarity of thinking.

Anxiety is a wild dog, yes, but most folks keep feeding it scraps of attention and calling it wisdom. You do not conquer fear by philosophizing it to death. You walk straight into the fire and let the flames reveal what burns away and what remains. Hint: only one of those is you. Stand still. Let the waves crash. Then move anyway. The monk’s path is not free of fear. It is free through fear.

I love your statement. It makes me think of one of Picassos quotes, where he equates painting as going to war.

Maybe we want anxiety yet we want to direct it in a useful manor.

I find it ironic that you use a Van Gough painting for this article. He doubled down on caffeine and nicotine when he painted. As if he used anxiety for to achieve his work. If im wrong please correct me.

Clarity is the antidote to anxiety.

The clearer I get with what tasks I want to complete each day, within each domain of my life, the less anxious I become.

But it's strange. I can work more and for longer hours. Last week I worked for 12 hours straight setting up my Substack page, writing my weekly newsletter, and formatting my first eBook.

Insane.

It could help. Write down where you want to be and write down to-do's to get you there. I like using a word document. What do you do to gain control of your life?
