A great article on the dangers of romantic love.

The Greeks had eight different words for the various types of love.

Romantic and erotic love are placed on a pedestal today above the other types of love: self, familial, and friends.

Very very well said (speaking as a woman age 75) Enough so that I’ve saved it for my personal diary. Even the Hopper painting…! Perfect!

The best kind of love lets you stay whole, not half.

Love isn’t about losing yourself in someone else’s gravity; it’s about orbiting together, each with your own center. When love means sacrificing your core, it’s no longer a gift — it’s an abdication.

📌 The best love adds to your life — it never subtracts.

Love is like a trap.. it can either force you into a loop or test you with different people. To me, I don’t think I would ever give a chance to built a relationship with a stranger that likes me or I do. It is so scary and terrifying (based on my parent’s

story) I believe I’ll end like my parents.
